Well here I am! A couple months later and still not a post! I am going to get better at this over the course of the summer. I have a lot of pictures I want to post and I will try to get around to it in the coming weeks! I just got back to Boone after a long 2 week “vacation” and I am tired! Being a groomsmen two weeks in a row can really make a young man tired. I went to Atlanta this week for my roomies bachelor party! We went to see a Braves game and then went to an ESPN Zone downtown for lunch the next day! We had such a good time; he got married in Burlington on Saturday and it was a nice ceremony. This week I will begin to e-mail principal’s and get my resume’ out there and hope one lands in the hands of a school that is interested in having me. I also am going back to Blowing Rock this week to see my old class and help adminster to EOG’s (end of grade testing)! I am sooooo excited to see them!

Kyle and I at his sister's wedding!

Wedding in Burlington! I caught the garter!! My new friend caught the bouquet and we had a special dance...she said I was too tall so I fixed that problem!

Wedding Party! Ashley (Bride) is in the black and white and Will (Groom) is right behind her next to me. This was the night before the wedding prior to dinner.

Us after graduation at my friend's house!

Shaking hands with Chancellor Peacock!

It has been way too long since I have posted anything on my blog; and for that I totally apologize! A lot has been going on in my life in the past month and a half. I need to go through my camera and post a bunch of pictures on here for everyone to see! This morning (Sunday) was the first day in a solid 2 weeks that I had slept past 7am. It was good times. We have had Saturday school for the past two weeks so it has been a little different than what everyone is used to. Yesterday I had a pretty long day. I went down to Hickory and took the Praxis II test! We will see how that worked out in a month or so…then I went to a coffee house and gave my testimony/a little sermon which was a great way to end the day. None of my friends are really up here right now because ASU is on Spring Break, but for some reason it was still pretty crowded so that was exciting! To all of my Delaware readers, I hope to be home for a few days …April 10-14…and I am possibly bringing my roomates with me so that should be a good ol’ time! Student teaching is going very well…I have a full load now so it is all day everyday with Mr. Macklin! We are going on a field trip to Raleigh in a couple weeks so I will be sure to get some pictures of that!
_I will post some pictures up here soon of some things I have been doing the past month or so!

Happy B-day Julie! I still remind her she is only my age for a week!

A-ron! Just had a Bday! Whoohoo!
Snow Snow….and more Snow! February 4, 2009

Last night we had a big sleep over to the house hoping for a lot of snow! We didn’t get as much as expected, but we still got a good 5 inches and more is to come tonight. It’s my second day off in a row and now we have to go to school on Saturday for a 1/2 day because we have missed so many days. I am supposed to be at a retreat at Black Mountain this weekend for Intervarsity so now it looks like I’ll have to drive down Saturday after school!

Water wheel in Boone that froze over.

The new club level of the football stadium is starting to come together.
What’s happening in Boone this week? January 28, 2009

Well this week is pretty much my first full week of student teaching (because of weather). I actually had a student teacher seminar today that was all day. It was the Harry Wong seminar; those of you in that have been in education know who I’m talking about. He is like the Godfather of classroom management and lesson planning. I have now officially taken over two Reading classes and Spelling throughout the school day so I am certainly getting the practice. I am really enjoying this people..it’s good times.
Last weekend was pretty busy. Friday I recieved a call from a friend and she told me that our friend Jessica, who works in Winston-Salem for the arena Wake Forrest plays B-Ball in. Anyway, she had 8 free tickets to Rascal Flatts that night so we made the journey down for that concert. I don’t listen to them much but I knew enough songs to have a good time! They put on a great show; I left my camera in the car so I can’t post any pictures on here! The next morning I drove to Greensboro to help my friend’s mom move. The coolest part was that I got to drive a 16 foot moving truck on I-40 and down-town G-boro. It was interesting to say the least. We will just leave it at that.

Amazing!
So last night (Tues), the African Children’s Choir came to town. Folks, I’m telling you, these kids are special. I wanted to take everyone of them home with me. They actually came to the Youth Rally in OC a few weeks ago! Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop (AKA PP-Mac) told me they were also in Milford a few weeks back and a couple of the girls stayed at Aunt Helens. I think they may travel in different groups because there was about 25-30 of them. It was amazing to hear their stories and watch them perform various dances. Most of these children are true orphans. But anyway, it was indeed a tear-jerker type of evening. One girl I was with was crying before they came out on stage haha. I said, “Oh man, this is going to be good.” It really was and I saw a couple of the children after the show and they were amazing; they vary from 7-11 years in age. This morning when I parked for the student teacher seminar, I noticed that their tour bus was there and they were staying where my seminar was being held. I didn’t get to see them again though!

Priceless!
Snow Days! January 21, 2009

Snow Days in Boonetown! Last Wednesday we had no school, last Thursday we had a 2 hour delay, last Friday we had a hour delay, Monday was MLK day (no school), and we were off Tuesday and today! We got around 8 inches of snow Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week. So the rest of the school week should be fairly short and next week I will start teaching spelling and reading. Hope everyone is having a great week! I heard Delaware recieved a little white on the ground as well! Oh, and ps., I’m not sure if I mentioned this in my previous posts, but it was definetly 2 degrees (wind chill -17) all day last Friday. It was the kind of cold that was so cold, that it was almost hot.

I pulled out of the driveway and turned around and had to pull out the camera!
ASU vs. Davidson January 13, 2009

Sweet
So last night Davidson came to town; they are a private school outside of Charlotte and if you haven’t heard, they have a great basketball team. They also have a great basketball player in Stephen Curry. Curry is one of the top players in the country as a Jr. There is no doubt that he will picked in the first round of the NBA draft whenever he chooses to leave. Last year Davidson went to the Elite 8 in the NCAA March Madness Tournament upsetting top teams in the country like Oklahoma and Georgetown. They are in our Conference (Southern Conf. aka SoCon), and the Holmes Convocation Center sold out last night for the first time since UNC came the year our court opened (8 or 9 years ago). I think we fit about 9,000 in the Convo which is about the same size of where Duke plays. Davidson just lost to Duke last week by 10 or 15. We lost last night by 18 but we were only losing by 3 at the half. They were just to big for us in the end. Curry is just flat out good..he only had 16 points but he didn’t play a whole lot for obvious reasons…but he (Coach Bob McKillop) put Curry in when they needed some points. We got there super early to get our usual seats. Me and some friends always sit on the court behind the basket close to the vistor’s bench. We went to the Women’s game (beat UNCG) at 5:00 just to make sure we got our seats. I loved seeing Bob McKillop up close and hear him call plays. Curry’s dad (Dale Curry) was there as well and he sat right near us. He played in the NBA for 13 or 14 years I think..I know a good bit of them he played for the Charlotte Hornets. They show him all the time in the crowd when Davidson plays on TV..I guess he doesn’t miss many of his son’s games.

BACK IN BOONE!!! January 8, 2009

Well I made it back to Boone yesterday around 5pm. It took me over 8 hours to get to Burlington on Tuesday when it usually takes me 6. The weather wasn’t the best and there was an accident in VA Beach; also, I hit downtown Norfolk during rush hour and that wasn’t pretty either. I was going to go golfing in Burlington yesterday with my roomate from last semester but it was too wet! We went out to lunch then I hit the road for Boone! I DONT have my cable for my camera (left it in DE) so I won’t be able to put pictures up til mom sends it too me! I had a great 3-4 weeks back in Delaware! It was awesome seeing family and friends! I have a big student teacher meeting tomorrow and then I take the Praxis II test on Saturday. Big weekend…should be a hoot and a holler!
So me Clay and Aron got this big TV when we had an Apt. up here at App St. a couple years ago. Well it has stayed with me for sometime now and back in Sept I woke up one morning and the screen was green and my roomates said it didn’t look good so we unplugged it and it sat in the corner of the living room for months. Well we brought Will’s TV to the living room and replaced it with mine. It wasn’t nearly as big but it did the job for a few months…Well Will took that home with him over winter break…so that left my dinky TV I have had since 5th grade. I had one roomate stay up here for most of break and he had to watch TV on that thing. Last night he tells me that we need to go get the Big TV fixed tomorrow and I said..of course, good idea. So I moved into a new room and it looks awesome..got all my skins stuff up and I have a little desk to work at….and it’s nice to have my own room again….anyway, it was my first night in here so I of course had a million weirdo dreams last night..One of them was very useful though..and some I forgot..but I had a dream that we plugged the Big TV in before we took it to get fixed just to check..and it worked….Soooooo this morning I told Josh and he said ok lets plug it in! Well I be darned if that thing doesn’t work as if it were brand new! That thing has been sitting on the floor for months!!! We both screamed at the same time..”DO YOU KNOW HOW DIFFERENT FOOTBALL WOULD HAVE BEEN THIS YEAR IF WE KNEW THIS THING WORKED!?!?!” But we don’t have to get the TV fixed anymore! Tonight we can watch the BCS National Championship game on it! I think I’m pulling for the Gators! But the Sooners are out to prove themselves so I hope it’s a good game!
5 INCHES OF SNOW TODAY AND IT’S STILL COMING DOWN BABY!
Last Day December 11, 2008

Today was my last day at the school; if it wern’t for me coming back to student teach there in a month, I would have lost it. These kids are awesome. Today was my teachers birthday as well so of course there was a lot of hugs for Mr. Macklin and Mrs. Anderson! Near the end of the day, I was acrossed the school talking to a couple interns in another classroom when when one of my students comes bursting through the hallway! She totally told me my professor from ASU was in our class and I needed to get back to class ASAP! So I went, and when I got there the lights were off and when I turned the lights on there was no ASU professor but instead a classroom loaded with students and a teacher shouting, “THANK-YOU MR. MACKLIN, WE WILL MISSSSS YOU!” It was good times, we listened to christmas music and had cookies after that. I just want to say that Bath and Body works hand soap smells amazing and I love using it any time it’s around! It is not very masculine of me to say that but man does that stuff rock! Mom has some at home in my bathroom and Aunt Kim has some in her bathroom in Hendersonville! I never say anything because I am embarrassed but hey, the secret is out! It got around school and Mrs. Anderson bought me 3 of those things for Christmas! Good stuff! I was way to excited, and Rainkissed leaves is one of them. Warm-Vanilla Sugar and Sensational? Amber is good too! Anywho, I have some pics below of my classroom door I decorated! I was hardcore and it dominates the whole hallway and everyone else’s door in the school! I took pics of the kids and cut them out to make it look like we are holding on to a rope attached to Santa’s sleigh!
Well darn the file of those pictures are too big!

Well it is that time of year again! The end of the semester! My last day in Blowing Rock is this week then I hit the road for Delaware for 3 1/2 weeks! I am excited to get home and get ready for Santa! A few girls from my class this semester had a Christmas get together to celebrate the end of the semester! We played “Dirty Santa”, the game where everyone brings one cheap present, and you can chose one, and then have the option to steal from someone else. It is a very fun game, and since I was the only guy, some of the gifts were girly. But it’s ok, after some fighting, stealing, and clawing, (just kidding), I ended with a sweet CD that has the 30 greatest Christmas Movie songs on it!

I had a couple buddies come home with me for Fall break back in October. We were busy, busy, busy the whole time traveling and taking them acrossed the great state of Delaware.
